Option for more basic safari lodge accommodation costs £1100 per person.

Approximate cost including flight is £1990. Allow a further £200 for lunch & dinner in Kampala.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the outstanding treasures of Uganda, at 2000 sq km, has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under Unesco. It is the home of the famous tree-climbing lions as well as elephants, hippos, buffalo, baboons, chimpanzees, antelopes and Uganda kob.

Trip to chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island, Lake Victoria, 23 km by boat from Entebbe. This formerly uninhabited rainforest island set up in 1998 is ideal for the chimps that have been rescued from captivity or laboratories.

Day 1: stay at hotel with pool near Entebbe, (near the airport)
Day 2: optional trip to Jinja and the rapids at the source of the Nile - pool time
Day 3: Kampala - visit community projects - shopping option
Day 4: pool time - church - local sightseeing
Day 5: trip to chimpanzee island sanctuary in Lake Victoria
Day 6: return from chimpanzee island sanctuary
Day 7: Kampala community projects - shopping
Day 8: Kampala community projects - visit crocodile farm at Lake Victoria - pool time
Day 9: Travel to Mweya (QE Park) via Fort Portal for lunch - pool time
Day 10: morning guided game drive starting early (elephants, lions, wart hogs, gazelle etc) - afternoon boat trip on Kazinga Channel (hippos, crocodiles, birds)
Day 11: option non-guided game drive - optional sharing and prayer time - pool time
Day 12: leisurely return from QE park with more game sightings to Fot Portal for lunch - back to Kampala / Entebbe
Day 13: Kampala community projects (unfinished business) - shopping - packing
Day 14: fly home
