Kingdom Safaris offers holidays in Uganda where you can experience the charm and beauty of this amazing country while also helping support a Ugandan community in a hands-on way.
Africa has so much need - but so much to offer in return. We believe that you'll get the most value from your visit by giving something of yourself as you enjoy this very different environment
We have put together a package which takes away the hassle of finding the right accommodation, organising safaris and trips, researching the best deals on flights, understanding the best approach to innoculation and health, and linking you with bona fide community projects. Our team are British nationals, based both in the UK and Uganda, and are your point of contact in both locations for all your needs. Having said that, Kingdom Safaris is majority owned by a Ugandan national, Pastor Paul Kinataama, who heads up the community part of our programme, and is key to ensuring that Ugandan folk benefit as much as possible from your visit to their country. What we are offering is:
* We ask that as part of the trip, you set aside at least £100 (which you convert to Ugandan shillings) as a donation, which you can pass to a certified project leader in Uganda. This amount will go a long way in Uganda. For example £100 will go a long way towards sponsoring a child through primary school for a year, much needed for orphans with no parents to provide this funding. You will have the opportunity to meet the person or people you are helping eg. meet the child in the case of child sponsorship. Thereafter, we also will ensure that you receive a regular report by email in connection with your donation.
We may also engage you with skills that you bring. For example, if you have teaching experience of any kind, you may have the opportunity to teach a class or two in a Ugandan school. On the other hand, if you have business skills, you may have the opportunity to lead a business training session, or advise entrepreneurs on how to make their businesses more effective - and we can also provide the means to invest in a local business, and receive email reports on business progress subsequent to your visit.
** A core principle of our company is that we will not engage in corrupt practices. We operate on the assumption that our customers are prepared to pay a bit more for a good quality and reliable service, but would however object to being cheated. We in turn believe in paying employees and suppliers a fair living income for their services, so there is no need for cheating. If you get a buzz out of engaging in corrupt dealings, then our offer is not for you! On the other hand, if you appreciate a wys-i-wyg ("what you see is what you get") type of experience, then that is more of what we are about.
Kingdom Safaris Uganda Ltd is a Ugandan registered company - the majority of shares are owned by Ugandans involved in the community projects that we support, and therefore the majority of any residual profits, after re-investment to grow the venture, go to Ugandans. Kingdom Safaris Uganda Ltd also commits to donating at least 10% of net profits to its sponsored community projects.
